Church of England Vision for Education
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school with a holistic approach that educates the whole child.
This fully supports the Church of England’s core desire for ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10).
INTRODUCING OUR
Vision
‘As the rainbow appears in the clouds, we are the brightness all around. Together we value uniqueness and rights, growing our knowledge with the Lord as our light’.
Priory’s vision is rooted in the story of Noah and God’s covenant, symbolised by the rainbow. The rainbow represents God’s protection, faithfulness and hope.
Throughout the story, there is a sense of hope and trust in God, with Noah, his family and God working in partnership and community. It teaches that God loves all of His unique creation, cares for it and wants the best for it. It is a story which demonstrates Noah listening to God when others were not, following His instructions and working in partnership with God.
God’s light shines through the story of Noah as a sign of hope, guidance and new beginnings. Just as light shining through the rain creates a rainbow, we seek to reflect God’s light through the way we learn, live and treat one another. The rainbow reminds us of God’s covenant with Noah and all creation: a promise of faithfulness, relationship and hope. Every colour contributes to the beauty of the rainbow, reflecting our belief that every person is unique, valued and made in the image of God. Together, guided by God’s light, we grow in knowledge and wisdom and seek to bring hope and brightness to the world around us.
The over-arching message of our vision is the importance of community and achieving things, together. This aligns with our Together values.
Noah lived as part of a community, just as we do at Priory. His story teaches us the importance of teamwork, kindness and cooperation. Noah could not have achieved what he did alone; through working together, supporting one another and trusting in God, his community found strength and hope.
OUR
Motto
‘Working together with God to be the best that we can be.’
Puts our vision into everyday language. Inspired by Noah’s trust in God, we work as a community where everyone is valued, everyone’s rights are respected and everyone is supported to flourish. With the Lord as our light, we grow in knowledge and use our unique gifts to bring brightness to the lives of others.
Our simple motto, which is often used when we speak to children, encourages individuals to aim high and to be true to the unique individual that God has created them to be. Strand 3 of SIAMS Evaluation Schedule

Values |
The Value Promotes… |
Bible Mandate & References (Revd. Shaun) |
|---|---|---|
| TRUST | Faith in God, trust in others, confidence in yourself, trustworthiness, feeling safe and valued, openness, supportive relationships and partnership. | We trust in God’s guidance, just as Noah trusted God during the flood. Pupils know that trusted adults will listen, help them and keep them safe. Staff, families and leaders work together openly for the good of every child. |
| OPTIMISM | Hope, high aspirations, belief in possibilities, resilience, perseverance, overcoming barriers, recognising progress and embracing new beginnings. |
The rainbow is a sign of God’s promise and the hope of a new beginning. At Priory, pupils are encouraged to believe that they can overcome barriers, make progress and become the best that they can be. Staff remain ambitious for every child, particularly those facing additional challenges. |
| GRATITUDE | Thankfulness, recognising blessings, appreciation of others, celebrating gifts and achievements, recognising opportunities, expressing thanks and appreciating the beauty and diversity of God’s creation. |
Noah’s story reminds us to be thankful for God’s protection, creation and promises. Pupils learn to appreciate the care they receive, celebrate the gifts and achievements of others and recognise the opportunities available to them through learning, worship and enrichment. Throughout school life, we encourage pupils to notice and be grateful for the people, experiences and blessings in their own lives, as well as the beauty and diversity of the world around them |
| ENTHUSIASM | A positive attitude, energy, curiosity, creativity, confidence, eager participation, embracing new experiences, perseverance and a desire to grow in knowledge and do well. |
We encourage pupils to approach learning and life with energy, curiosity and a desire to grow their knowledge, with the Lord as their light. Children participate eagerly, embrace new experiences and show a genuine desire to do well. |
| THOUGHTFULNESS | Kindness, consideration, care for others, thinking about the impact of words and actions, cooperation, inclusion and responding thoughtfully to different needs. |
Noah listened carefully and acted thoughtfully to protect his family and the animals. At Priory, pupils are taught to consider how their words and actions affect others. Kindness, cooperation, pastoral care and thoughtful adaptations ensure that everyone can participate and flourish. |
| HONESTY | Truthfulness, openness about actions, feelings and worries, taking responsibility, acknowledging mistakes, seeking forgiveness, putting things right and making a fresh start. |
Trust grows when people speak truthfully and take responsibility for their choices. Pupils are encouraged to be honest about their actions, feelings and worries, knowing that they will be listened to and supported. Restorative approaches help them put things right and begin again. |
| ENJOYMENT | Joy, delight, awe and wonder, enjoyment of learning and worship, positive friendships, developing talents, participation and a happy sense of belonging. | After the flood, Noah and his family experienced the joy of safety, renewal and God’s promise. At Priory, pupils experience enjoyment through purposeful learning, worship, friendships, clubs and opportunities to develop their talents. They attend school happily and are proud to belong. |
| RESPECT | The inherent worth and dignity of every person, valuing uniqueness, respecting rights, fairness, good manners, understanding differences and caring for all living things. |
Noah cared for every person and animal entrusted to him. In the same way, Priory values the uniqueness, dignity and rights of every member of its community. Pupils are polite, kind and respectful, while showing tolerance, fairness and understanding towards those whose needs or experiences may be different from their own. |
Together, these values bring the vision to life:
Our Priory community trusts in God’s promises, shines brightly for others, celebrates uniqueness and enables everyone to belong, grow and flourish.
