Welcome to Year 6

EMMELINE PANKHURST AND JESSE OWENS

In our classrooms, we follow our school values TOGETHER – Trust, Optimism, Gratitude, Enthusiasm, Thoughtfulness, Honesty, Enjoyment, and Respect – and use them every day as we learn, play, and grow. This page gives you information about our curriculum, trips and special events. Our goal is for every child to flourish and be the best that they can be, developing confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning in a safe and happy environment.

PE Day: Thursday

Please ensure that if your child has earrings, they are removed for PE days. Children are required to always have their PE kit in school, and it will be sent home at the end of the half term.

TT Rocks- 10 games per week.

Reading: We advise that you read with your child every night or that your child reads for pleasure.

Spelling Shed: 10 games per week. We welcome you practicing your spellings written too, alongside the app learning.

We have three fantastic trips:

  1. Standon Bowers Residential – building life skills, collaboration, teamwork and resilience we stay here for 4 nights with our wonderful class families.
  2. Alton Towers – what better way to celebrate our achievements than a thrilling adventure to Alton Towers! Who will be brave enough to ride Oblivion?
  3. National Memorial Arboretum- with our topic immersed in WW2, we show our respect by visiting such a fitting historical site.

We also have exciting opportunities to show our talents in an End of Year Production. We host a leavers BBQ and a very special Leaver’s Worship.
